Steffi Friedrichs: “Technologies that change our lives: should they be celebrated or feared?”, Hello Tomorrow – Global Summit, Paris, October 2017.

“As policy makers, we are quite often referring to Cyber Physical and Social Systems; the ‘social’ component is there as part of what drives the technology forward, because society is now an integral part of the technology we are developing, and we (as a society and as individuals within it) are more and more affected by technology […].

[…] as humans and society are a part of the technology and its advancement, and as humans and society are more impacted by technologies than ever before, they should also have a much bigger responsibility in the technology development.”
